As you can see from the picture above, R.EA.L. stands for Relax, Enjoy, Aspire, Learn.

This program was developed with the homeschool family in mind.  It is intended to help the family incorporate Spanish into their daily life so that it will be easier to retain.  With this way of learning the language, the parent actually learns the language alongside the child.  You learn Spanish through conversation instead of drills, reading and writing!  That is definitely a better way to learn a foreign language.

Our family was given the downloadable version of REAL Homeschool Spanish.  It included the book (featuring 10 units, 55 vocab clusters and 15 idea sections of ways to further your learning), a 179 page activity book featuring all kids of activities from word searches, to crosswords, to word scrambles and lots in between, all the audio files you need, an answer guide and the daily curriculum guide/planner.

It was a little overwhelming when I first got the program, because there is so much included in it!  Just like with any new curriculum you get, you just have to sit down and check it out until you are comfortable.  I’m sure it won’t be overwhelming to others, but as you know, I’m new to using ‘curriculum’ like this, so I’m still trying to get used to it all!

All in all, I think this is a great program and great way to get your children learning another language AND enjoying it!

Information at a glance:

For who? Honestly, there’s no age listed anywhere that I’ve found on their site or elsewhere for this program.  I would say elementary.  That being said, they say on their site that they will have a high school supplement soon!

How much? $49.95 for a downloadable copy and $89.95 for a hard copy

Where do I buy it? on the REAL Homeschool Spanish website
