Hidden Recycler Review and Giveaway

I’ve been recycling since before recycling was ‘cool’.  I’m loving that more people are doing it now.  I’m loving even more that companies are making recycling friendly products!

Rubbermaid has come out with a couple of new products recently to make recycling easier.  One of them is called the Hidden Recycler.  It is a bag type container that you hang on the inside of your cabinet in your kitchen.  You can hang it using hooks that come with it or you can screw it right into the cabinet.  that’s what we did, because the hooks made it so that we couldn’t close the door.  I’m sure it just depends on your cabinets, but either way is fine.  It was easy enough for hubby to set it up in the cabinet, and I kind of like not having the hooks on the outside of the cabinet.

I really love this thing!  I was excited to be able to review this, because I am always up for anything that makes recycling easier.  At first, I wasn’t sure how much easier it would make things.  It really isn’t about making things easier for me, though, it is about having a more organized kitchen!  Like you saw in the picture above, normally after we would rinse out a container to be recycled, we would put it on the edge of the kitchen counter where it would wait for one of us to take it to our recycling bins.  They aren’t even that far away, but when you are cleaning up a meal or whatever, it is easier to just stay in the same area!  With the Hidden Recycler, I can stay at the sink, open the cabinet, and throw my recyclables in it and just keep on going.

Then, when it is full, you just use the handle on it to pick it up and empty it into your recycling bins!  It’s super easy!

A few more great things about it:

• It has a 5 gallon bag that holds up to 36 12-ounce cans and can fit a milk jug.
• The bag has a leak-proof liner and is machine washable to make it easy to clean after any unexpected spills.
• The bag is soft-sided allowing for flexibility inside any cabinet.
• The bag and all packaging is made from recyclable material, and the product is recyclable.
