Recycling Silly Bands and Rubber Bands

June 23, 2012 by Nicole @ Some Call It Natural 3 Comments

How many of you have more than one child?

Now, how many of you have children that fight over which glass is theirs?  Or get irritated when their siblings drink after them?

My kids do.  They especially get irritated with the youngest when she drinks after them because she is still not so proficient in not backwashing.

Okay… now how many of you have a billion silly bands sitting around the house from the semi-short silly band craze?  I do!  Some still in packages, actually.

If you answered no to that last question, do you ever buy vegetables with rubber bands around them?

I’m sure you all were able to answer yes, to one or both of those questions, right?

If you’re like me, you can’t bring yourself to just throw those away.  All of ours get thrown into a drawer in the kitchen for future use.

One of the future uses is putting them around our glasses so that the kids will know whose glass is whose.

So, each kid has a different color.  Sometimes they use silly bands and sometimes they use the rubber bands from veggies.  Either way, they never argue over their glasses anymore!  As a parent, it is wonderful when you can stop at least one type of arguing, right!?

I hope you can use this idea in your own house and have happier days without arguments over whose glass is whose!

Haha, I LOVE this idea! I have so many of those darn rubber bands from buying produce, and although I only have one toddler right now, I do have a lot of younger cousins that I sometimes babysit, so this is definitely useful! Thanks again for linking up at Tiny Tip Tuesday, and congrats on being featured last week! :)

Super idea! We had different colored cups when the kids were smaller. That is a great idea with the rubber bands!
