Whether you are a vegetarian or not, you are sure to enjoy this book!  This is not your normal vegetarian book with all the reasons why you should be a vegetarian.  The book does NOT go on and on about how meat is bad for you and how horrible of a person you are for being responsible for the killing of animals because you eat meat.

Instead, it is a book filled with humor about being a vegetarian.  Not making fun of it, don’t get me wrong.  Here’s are a couple of examples from the book:

(On ways to successfully quit eating meat)

Aversion Therapy

If every time you see, smell, or taste meat, you associate something unpleasant which makes you physically sick, then you are much less likely to resume the habit.  That is the principle behind aversion therapy.  Here are 3 common techniques used by clinicians to administer meat-aversion therapy.

  1. While eating one’s favorite hamburger, the voice of Fran Drescher is played into the subject’s headphones.
  2. While snacking on a bucket of KFC, the subject is strapped into a chair and forced to watch an Adam Sandler movie.
  3. The subject is forced to eat a ham sandwich, while having a one-to-one lunch with Newt Gingrich.

After going through any of the above techniques the subjects typically have such a horrible association with the meat-eating experience that they become nauseated at even the thought of eating meat.

Another one of my favorite parts of the book is the back cover where the ‘reviews’ are listed.  I know that sounds weird that’s one of my fave parts of the book, but here are a couple examples to help you understand:

“I accidentally spilled barbeque sauce all over it, so I had to throw it out.  I don’t want to have to pay for another book, but if I get one for free I’ll probably read it. ~ Randy Buford, Neighbor of the author”

“I liked when he mentioned me. ~ Sheldon Bumpus, Research assistant to the author.”

“I’ve been quite busy with work and stuff, so I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.  But I like the cover. ~ Bernice Chmielewski, Girlfriend of the author”

This book is a bit hard to explain without just quoting the entire thing.  Let me just tell you this.  I seriously laughed out loud to many parts of this book!  AND, my husband had to endure me reading it out loud to him because I kept on finding parts that I wanted to share with him.  Sometimes that was difficult to do through the laughing, though.

So, since it’s a hard book to explain, you really should just go buy it on Amazon.  It’s a steal at only $11.95.  and, it’s one of those books that you can just pick up every now and then and read a few pages.

Okay… what are you waiting on???  Go get it!
