Okay… these pictures aren’t recent. They’re from one summer when the kids and I traveled and visited family, while my husband stayed home and worked and ‘held down the fort’, so to speak. Anyway, I still wanted to share them even though they aren’t super recent.
Like I said, the kids and I were gone for 2 weeks. When we got back, this is what our fridge looked like:
So, basically, we have one tomato, some condiments, sour cream, cottage cheese, a kombucha scoby, a steak and 2 cartons of eggs.
Not sure how the eggs made it and I’m pretty sure the only reason the steak is there is because he had just taken it out of the freezer.
Oh… and the cupboard??? It didn’t look much better.
I promise there was food in both the fridge AND the cupboard when I left!
When I asked him if he had gone shopping while I was gone, the answer was something like, “I went a couple times and got frozen pizzas and other little things”.
In his defense, he leaves for work at 7 and doesn’t usually get home until almost 7, so it doesn’t leave a lot of time for cooking. When I was home at the time this happened, I had dinner planned around when he got home, so he was able to come home and eat with the family.
Things are a bit different now, because we work together in the afternoons, but we still make it work somehow.
I thought some of you women (and men) might get a chuckle out of the way my husband kept the fridge and cupboard.
