If you’ve been reading this blog for long at all, you know I don’t like packaged products and avoid them if at all possible.
Those pre packaged chip dips are no exception. The ingredients list is a mile long and full of things that should not go in a human body.
Now, of course, whether it’s homemade or packaged, this is definitely junk food. It’s a great thing to fix for a party, though, and everyone will love it!
I would rather have homemade junk food than packaged. At least that way, I know what all the ingredients are that I will be eating!
I’ve got a quick and easy dip recipe for you today.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2T Parsley
- 1 T chopped (or diced) onion
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- a few dashes pepper
- 1/8 tsp. salt (this is optional because there will presumably be salt on the chips)
Mix all the ingredients together with a spoon. You can eat it right away, but it is better if you can let it sit in the fridge for an hour or so to let all the flavors meld together.
Note: This recipe is very adaptable. If you want it to have a more garlic taste, add more garlic… more of an onion taste, add more onion. Think of this recipe as your basis and then you can make it all your own from there.
Have you ever made your own Onion and Garlic dip?
