Using CursiveLogic You Can Teach Anyone How to Write in Cursive

July 8, 2015 by Nicole @ Some Call It Natural Leave a Comment

Teaching cursive has been taken out of many, if not all, public schools in the United States.

And I think it’s a shame! I still see so much value in it and so do the creators of CursiveLogic!!

I’m happy to say that they saw fit to send my family a complimentary review copy of their CursiveLogic Workbook so that we could try it out and tell you all about it.

CursiveLogic Workbook

Most handwriting programs, whether they be print or cursive, rely on the student to memorize the letters.

CursiveLogic is different.

CursiveLogic teaches the student the structure of the cursive alphabet.

It teaches the student that there are only four basic shapes in the entire lowercase cursive alphabet.

There are four sections to the CursiveLogic workbook… one for each letter shape.  It teaches the student the string of letters that are associated with each shape and assigns a color, name, and verbal name to each shape.

Most handwriting curriculums will teach the student one letter at a time.  CursiveLogic teaches “letter strings”.  There are four sets of letter strings; one for each shape.

Each lesson, your child will work on all the letters in that letter string.

While your child is working on that letter string, he is also saying the verbal catch phrase that goes along with that shape.  And, like I said before, the letters are color coded for each shape as well.

So, for each shape, your child has a few different things that are all reinforcing the shape patterns: color, name, and the catch phrase.

Honestly, I was shocked at how beautiful my son’s letters were being formed in the just the first couple of lessons!

Not that I didn’t have faith in him… it’s just that he’s the typical boy with not so great handwriting.  I think that may be different now that he is using CursiveLogic!!

Not only do I see a difference in his handwriting already, he also does not groan when it’s time for his handwriting lesson!  That’s a definite win!

If you want to see what others have to say about the CursiveLogic program, click the “Read More” banner below.  Although, I’ll warn you, we can’t tell you lots because otherwise we would be giving up all of what makes CursiveLogic great!  And, personally, I don’t want to give up all their trade secrets.  They have worked hard to create this program and it is definitely worth buying if you want your child to learn cursive.
