Simple and Scrumptious Bruschetta Recipe

Simple and Scrumptious Bruschetta

Have you ever had bruschetta at a restaurant?

Did it seem too fancy to replicate at home?

I’m here to tell you it is NOT too fancy to replicate!  You can treat your family to this wonderful treat the next time you are having Italian for dinner… or just for a snack in the middle of the day!

Bruschetta can be easy.

Here is what you will need:

Your choice of bread

Tomatoes and basil

melted garlic, butter and salt

Melted butter, garlic, and salt

and mozzarella cheese

Mozzarella cheese

Once you have the ingredients together, turn on your oven to broil. If you have a low broil or high broil option, I suggest low.  If not, that’s fine, you will just have to watch it more closely when it cooks.

Cut your bread into slices and place on a baking sheet.

The next picture gives you a visual of how to put everything on the bread and then I will explain.

Starting from the bottom (Sorry. I’m not sure why I did it like that.)…

Place a piece of tomato on the bread. (Big enough to cover, or mostly cover, the bread.)

Then, put a spoonful of the butter mixture on the tomato.

Top that with a piece of basil or two.

And then finish it off with mozzarella cheese!

Do this with all the pieces of bread on your baking sheet and then place it in the oven on broil for 3-5 minutes. (Check on it after 3 minutes)

It is ready when the cheese is melted to your liking.

And voila! Bruschetta at home!

The plain pieces on there are for my son. He prefers it plain or with just the butter sauce.

***I’m sure you noticed I didn’t give you quantities for each ingredient. I did that on purpose. It really just depends on how many you make.

For what you see in the picture above, I used about one and a half tomatoes and about 3/4 cup of cheese.

For the garlic mixture, just melt some butter with minced garlic and then add salt. It doesn’t matter if you make too much, because you can save it in your fridge for a future date.

I hope you enjoy this!

Please share the post with your friends and family.
