Greemu – Plant based oil from Devonian {Review}

April 28, 2016 by Nicole @ Some Call It Natural Leave a Comment

Devonian is a wonderful company that I was recently introduced to through the TOS Homeschool Review Crew. They have created a product called GREEMU that is distributed by Koru Naturals.

So that I could try it out and tell you all about it, they sent me a complimentary 4 fl. oz. bottle of their new GREEMU oil!

GREEMU6

I was very excited when I read about GREEMU and how it was made. I have had the opportunity in the past to review Emu oil, but I declined, because I was not comfortable with the fact that the oil came from an animal.

Don’t get me wrong… I eat animals. That being said, I do try to know where my meat is coming from and I definitely am not okay with using a product knowing it came from an animal, unless I could see what the process was like and could be assured the animals do not suffer at all.

Our family just feels a little differently about the treatment of animals than some. We do believe that the animals are here for our use and that it is completely okay to eat them. However, we don’t think it’s right to keep them in cages, do testing on them, or anything else like that. (We don’t visit zoos and aquariums.)

With all of that being said, I was happy to learn about Devonian. They are primarily focused on finding plant based alternatives to products that are currently animal based. And, one of those products in Emu oil.

People use Emu oil for a moisturizer, scalp conditioner, hair conditioner, helps reduce wrinkles, and more. Devonian’s GREEMU oil does all the same things!

Devonian found a way to mix certain plants together to create the same lipid composition as grade A emu oil!

GREEMU oil contains macadamia seed oil, certified organic palm oil, shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and rice bran oil.

When you use it, you only use a drop or two, so the 4 oz. bottle should last you quite awhile!

Just like any other oil, it can make your hands slightly greasy for a little bit. It’s really not a big deal, though, and it eventually soaks into your skin and it’s not a problem.

We used our GREEMU oil as a face moisturizer, as well has a hand moisturizer. Our hands tend to get very dry in the winter months. When we received our bottle of GREEMU, our hands were almost completely healed, but it still seemed to help clear them up the rest of the way. I’m interested to see how our hands do next winter while using GREEMU oil.

My 14 year old daughter now prefers the GREEMU oil over coconut oil as her moisturizer. She likes that it’s always in liquid form and she likes the bottle it comes in. She also likes that it barely has a smell! She is also big on not using animals in beauty products, so this is great for her, as she would have never used emu oil!

If you are looking for a plant based alternative to emu oil, I highly recommend you try GREEMU oil!

Information at a glance:
