I am working on not eating as much bread, so when we have BLT’s for lunch, I fix a BLT salad instead.
I wanted to make a dressing that made it take as close to a BLT as possible, without it being unhealthy.
I did use mayo, but you can make that if you want to make it the healthiest dressing possible!
The addition of the ACV and olive oil, gives it that smooth, liquidy consistency of a dressing and has the added benefit of the nutrition from both of those ingredients!
Ingredients for the dressing:
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/8 cup ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)
- 1 T. olive oil
- 1/8 t salt
- 1/8 t. pepper
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
This recipe is short and sweet just as many of my recipes are and that’s the way I like it!
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix. I used a fork so that I could break up the clumps from the mayo and incorporate it with the ACV and olive oil. A whisk would work wonderfully as well.
After that, it’s pretty simple. You can make as much or as little salad as you would like.
Put your choice of lettuce (I used romaine) and diced tomatoes in the bowl. Add in your dressing and toss. Then put some chopped bacon on top.
The ACV in the dressing gives it a nice little bite which I love.
Voila. BLT Salad!
