I have been a member of the Christian Homeschool Hub for many years. They have a free membership that allows you to take part in their forums and other things. Over the last few weeks, I have been able to check out their CHSH Download Club using my complimentary annual subscription to CHSH-Teach.com.
There are SO MANY things on this website! There are over 50,000 pages of educational downloadable material for grades PreK through 12.
What can you get for your homeschool?
Wow… Okay… What can you NOT get? That would be an easier question to answer.
That’s not to say it is for everyone. If you are a boxed curriculum, I like everything laid out for me type of homeschool mom, then this site might not be for you.
That being said, you can totally check out what is offered in the download club BEFORE you decide to become a member. So, you really can’t lose. You will likely know before you sign up that it is something you want.
A few things that caught my eye right away were:
- Monthly learning packs for PreK through 2nd grade
- ASL flashcards
- High school American History (Student and Teacher Books)
- Skip Counting worksheets
- Reading Comprehension worksheets
- Themed monthly lessons (Johnny Appleseed, Labor Day, Memorial Day, ect.)
Most of the items are just add-ons. They are things you would use to supplement whatever curriculum you are using.
There is fun stuff for the kids too, like crossword puzzles and word searches.
And, finally, there are mom resources … planning and record keeping, calendars, and “how to homeschool” downloads.
What subjects can I find on the site?
The first thing I noticed when I looked at the website is how many subjects were included!
They have downloadables in:
- Language Arts
- Social Studies
- Mom Help
- Monthly themes
- Classroom Helps
- Lapbooking resources
- “Fun” pages
- “Treasures” from the past (old books)
- Languages (Spanish, French, Italian, and ASL)
- Art, Music, and Crafts
Why Join the CHSH Download Club?
Lynda Ackert founded the download club, which currently has over 50,000 pages of educational material on it. She has hundreds of these downloads for sale on other websites, but if you are a member of the download club, you have access to them as part of your membership! This can potentially save you hundreds (thousands??) of dollars!
Additionally, members of the download club are able to upload their own downloadables for all members to use. So, you don’t just have access to Lynda’s products, but other member’s as well!
I have enjoyed checking out this website.
I will continue to consult it for the monthly themed items. For example, we are getting ready to learn all about Johnny Appleseed!
I will also use the math worksheets for extra practice, the ASL flashcards, History, and Geography resources. I’m sure I will find more as I dig more. There is so much that it is easy to miss things!
I highly recommend you at least check it out. It costs nothing to just see what is available.
